Class Descriptions
Gi class - This class consists of a warm up, drilling technique and rolling - all done in the gi. The gi is a uniform traditionally worn by BJJ practitioners. If you don't own a gi, that's ok - just wear something you can move in and we'll loan you one of ours until you get your own.
No - gi class - A warm up followed by drilling a no-gi specific technique. We finish the class with some live rolling rounds. No-gi is done without the traditional uniform - wear something you can move in - think shorts or leggings and a t-shirt. Self Directed Drilling and Rolling - Regular class with opportunity to drill techniques (especially syllabus based) or to spar. Open mat - a brief warm up, then opportunity to drill techniques, do takedown practice, or to spar. Dependent on coach or senior member availability. All classes are for adults aged 16 and above. We do not offer kids classes.

What to expect
We understand it can be a little daunting coming to a new gym or club. Here are a few tips to get you started.
- For your first class wear something comfortable - gym clothes are fine.- Make sure your nails are cut short.- If you have long hair, tie it up.- Arrive at class at least fifteen minutes prior to the start time.- Please introduce yourself to the coach.- Bring a bottle of water and a mouth guard if you have one.- You'll be in physical contact with lots of people - don't forget your physical hygiene (eg: deoderant, fresh breath) and if you are sick, please stay at home.- And remember, ask plenty of questions - everyone is friendly and willing to help!
